What are Art Bar's hours, and are you open every day?
We’re open seven days a week, every day of the year, from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM. That’s the legal closing limit in New York City, and we run right up to it — which makes us one of the latest-closing bars in the West Village. Whether it’s a Tuesday after work or a Saturday that’s stretched well past midnight, we’re here. No dark days, no seasonal closures, no wondering if we’re open on a holiday.
Do I need a reservation at Art Bar, or can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are genuinely welcome here — this isn’t a place where you need to plan three weeks out. Most nights, especially weekdays and early evenings, you can walk right in and find a seat. That said, we do get packed on weekend nights, and if you’re coming with a group, it’s worth reaching out ahead of time. If you want to be sure you have a spot waiting, email us at in**@****ar.com at least 24 hours before your visit and we’ll sort it out.
How do I make a reservation, and how far in advance should I book?
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so we can plan accordingly. There’s no app to download, no platform account to create, and no deposit required. It’s a straightforward email to a real person. If you have questions or specific requests, include those too — we’re easy to reach and happy to help make your visit work.
Is there a dress code at Art Bar? What should I wear?
No dress code. Come as you are. We’ve always been that kind of place — the crowd on any given night is an eclectic mix of West Village regulars, people stopping in after work, tourists who wandered over from the High Line or the Whitney, and creative types who’ve been coming here for years. Nobody’s checking what you’re wearing at the door. There’s no velvet rope, no bottle service minimum, and no pretension. Dress for your own comfort and you’ll fit right in.
